The Route follows the TransAmerica Cycle Trail first developed in 1976 by the American Adventure Cycling Association (ACA). From historic Williamsburg, I head westward through the hills of Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri.
After breezing across the hot and humid plains of Kansas I reach the halfway point at Pueblo in Colorado.
I then start the ascent into the Rockies traversing the Hoosier pass, at 11,542 feet above sea level, the highest point on the tour.
Pressing on to Wyoming I cycle through the famous Yellowstone Park, followed by the final dash to the Pacific coast through Montana, Idaho and Oregon, where after 4246 miles I finally arrive at my destination in Florence.
At this point, I will be leaving the group and heading north through Washington and British Columbia to finish my ride in Vancouver, Canada.
All sounds fairly simple and straight forward :-)
